The brief
To create a global web presence that would position Deb’s range of hand sanitising products as world class – allowing Deb to target multi-national, multi-disciplined businesses (micro economies) on a level playing field – for the first time in the company’s history.
Background
Until an investment company bought the entire Deb Group in 2006, they operated as 16 different companies throughout the world, with different management structures, different operational styles and different marketing and product mix. Access had previously worked for Deb (in fact Deb were our first client) principally on their UK automotive business. Deb now wanted an integrated agency that could help them both creatively and technically.
Our approach
We spent the best part of 18 months working closely with Deb’s International Marketing Group, whose task it was to develop a site structure, wire frame, copy, content, imagery and launch it to the group of companies. Our role included strategic and technical advice, design and project management support, and the creation of 12 ‘regional’ sites (including translating it into nine languages) – with a combination of common and region-specific content and the building of a content management system (CMS) which enables group and regional content to be added by a range of Access-trained Deb staff.
Access were also contracted to provide monthly maintenance, search engine optimisation and run pay per click (PPC) campaigns to enhance the sites' visibility.
Results
Utopia – one fully integrated global website that can be accessed and read across the world with information pertinent to the Deb group, as well as local information relevant to local needs. The site is both comprehensive and up to date – the recent swine flu (H1N1) pandemic is covered by both Deb’s own comments and RSS news feeds from authorities on the subject (including the World Health Organisation). And it doesn’t end there, we are working on a range of new materials for the site including video content, microsites, emailer templates and advertising.
And another thing…
All the models featured on the website are friends/family of Access that were used for the UK launch at Canary Wharf and then flown to Chicago for the global launch – saving our client a few pennies!
