LBRO: Trading Places Event

The brief

To launch ‘Trading Places’ - a work placement scheme providing opportunities for Local Authority Regulatory staff and businesses to share insights into regulation and compliance.

Background

LBRO is the public body that helps local authorities improve the way they enforce trading standards, environmental health, licensing and fire safety regulations.

Our Approach

LBRO wanted to launch the project with a high profile event, PR, literature and a promotional DVD. The launch event took place at CBI’s Centre Point in Central London in March 2009. Access managed the invites and secured maximum numbers of attendees. We planned, managed and organised the whole event including; catering, promotional giveaways, PowerPoint presentations, site dressing, and also designed and produced a promotional leaflet and a placement workbook for participants. Access also handled the PR surrounding the event and staged a photo call with key speakers and LBRO board members working the checkouts at the local Sainsbury’s store.

Results

The event attracted all of the key stakeholders LBRO wanted to attend, and allowed LBRO’s board to promote the project and their plans for the future to many key influencers within the industry, and by doing so encourage participation in the project.

Testimonials

“From the invites to the catering, Access thought about every last detail and supported the LBRO team in ensuring the launch of Trading Places went without a hitch. Access successfully brought together key figures from business and local authority regulation to launch the scheme which builds the commercial awareness of regulatory services’ officers through intensive two-day business placements at leading UK companies.” Gemma Durie, Policy Analyst - Communications
