Deb is in safe hands with Access

Manchester based creative agency Access Advertising Marketing and Design has won another exciting piece of business this month after ‘away from home’ skin care experts Deb Limited returned to Access after a three year break.

Access had previously worked with Deb for four years, handling much of their communications activity and packaging before the company made a decision to move these activities in-house. However with Deb’s latest development, it’s ‘Infection Control in the Workplace Programme', the company felt it was essential to bring in external expertise.

The Deb brand is a well-established leading name within the industrial, healthcare and janitorial markets. Recognised as a mark of quality, Deb branded products cover a wide variety of skin care applications for the workplace and public facilities.

This innovative Infection Control programme aims to help raise the standards of hand hygiene and reduce the risk of the spread of infection in the workplace, particularly office environments. The biggest transference of germs is via hands – person-to-person or touching everyday surfaces e.g. desks, phones, keyboards, kitchen surfaces etc. Yet studies show good hand hygiene practices can reduce illness, absenteeism and associated costs by up to 50%.

Paul Blount, Deb Group’s European Marketing Director believes that infection control should be high on the list of corporate responsibilities, and prevention is something that senior managers should take very seriously.

He comments: “Most of the time a common cold isn’t enough to keep people off work, but with many people self-medicating and continuing to work (‘presenteeism’) whilst ill it can affect their effectiveness as well infect their colleagues around them. In fact, ‘presenteeism’ is estimated to be up to three times the cost of absenteeism. Our Infection Control Programme is about education and prevention and we are targeting occupational health and human resources professionals to encourage them to promote well-being and best practice.”

The programme offers a complete skin care system for the workplace with products to protect, cleanse, sanitise and restore hands, as well as a full range of support aids from free site surveys and advice to on-site visits that educate staff to tailored work-point solutions to increase hygiene compliance.

The key feature of this new programme is Deb InstantFOAM hand sanitiser, a ground-breaking new patented powerful alcohol based foam which kills 99.999% of many common germs and bacteria.

Access is tasked with creating and delivering a global communications campaign (covering eight countries around the world) to support the launch of the programme. This includes advertising, sales literature, exhibition displays and promotional giveaways.

Simon Landi, Managing Director at Access comments on this latest project: “Deb was a great account for us when we first worked with them; they were the mainstay of our business, and its fantastic that we were top of the list when they decided to bring in an agency for this innovative new project. And on a personal level, as a business owner this research has really opened my eyes, if I can reduce the amount of colds that fly around the office every winter I’d be a happy man.”
